New Information About Baby Development
Almost everybody understands that babies are sweet and cuddly. They wear sweet and funny looking outfits. There are so many things babies can wear that adults would be mocked mercilessly for wearing. You might think that it’s not that hard being a baby. Many people believe that babies are merely small humans who are fully formed (except that they need to learn how to talk). Babies are actually quite complicated and have very distinct needs and very unique abilities. Here are some facts about babies that might be new to you. By the way, don’t forget to read up on ways to stop bedwetting!
The heart is almost always formed and operational by the time a woman takes her first pregnancy test. A beating heart is usually completed (at least rudimentarily) by twenty one days of life. This is usually when most women find out that they are pregnant. Doesn’t it amaze you that biology doesn’t even need a full month to build functioning organs out of almost nothing at all? Think about the heart you have as an adult; isn’t it amazing that it could be created so quickly? You probably already knew that fetuses are able to hear sounds while they are still in the womb. Studies have been done proving that sounds carry through to the womb and that babies can have strong reactions to different sounds. It does not matter when the baby is born, his ears are still very sensitive to high decibel levels of sound while he is in the womb. A fetus’s ears are impressionable and sensitive. Your doctor will probably tell you that a good gauge for what is too loud is your vacuum cleaner: if your television or music is louder than the vacuum then that music or television show needs its volume turned down! Vacuum cleaners usually push the limit of the baby’s comfort level with noise, so it is a good idea to keep the music down and to avoid things like heavy construction and loud traffic.
Did you know that at one point your baby had a tail? It’s true! Your baby’s tail starts to form at the same time that the other organs like the brain and the heart and the lungs begin to develop.
While the rest of the baby’s vital organs continue to develop after birth, the tail has usually long since disappeared into the rest of the baby’s body by the time it is born. It is not unlike the way frogs develop from tadpoles. Some people, however, have tails that do not completely disappear and they are born with them still somewhat intact. There are two options available to you if your baby is born with his tail still intact: waiting and hoping that it goes away or having it removed via surgery. The good news is that the tail does not have any effect on your baby’s health and removing it should not be a problem. Many people are fascinated by babies. There is no real proof that states just how babies learn the things they do or how long it takes them to learn those things. The one thing everyone can agree on is just how quickly babies change and how amazing it is to watch them grow up. Last but not least, be sure to read this great bed wetting information. Highly recommended.
